Camping de l'Aulnaie is located in the 600-strong village of Dangu in the Normandy hinterland. At Camping de l'Aulnaie, you can play to your heart's content with your children, relax and discover the varied surroundings with the river valleys of the Seine, the Epte and the Eure. Excursions to the capital Paris, to Parc Astérix or to the seaside resorts on the Channel coast are possible. Landing beaches, invasion memorials and museums are also recommended destinations. Claude Monet's house in the artist colony of Giverny is only about half an hour's drive from Camping de l'Aulnaie. The famous garden and the water lily pond were immortalised by the painter prince in his impressionist masterpieces. Art lovers will love a tour of the Musée des Impressionnismes in Giverny.
Who will find the treasure of the Knights Templar in nearby Gisors during their holiday at Camping de l'Aulnaie?
According to legend, there is treasure hidden in the castle there, about seven kilometres from Camping de l'Aulnaie. Even if you don't find any, it's worth exploring the medieval-looking town centre of Gisors. Also visit the church of Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais in Gisors, whose imposing "La Grosse Tour" can be seen from afar. In Vernon, around 25 kilometres from the campsite, the Collegiate Church of Notre Dame, the fountains in the park of Bizy Castle and the Alphonse-Georges Poulain Town Museum are all impressive. Monet was also taken by the beauty of Vernon. He painted the Old Mill, which can still be admired today on a historic bridge construction over the Seine, several times.
