Active family holidays at Camping Orbitur Angeiras, on and in the water
The salty sea climate is not only healthy and lets (thanks to frequent west wind) many allergy sufferers breathe freely - it also makes you tired. But usually only on the first and maybe the second day. Then you are well rested, and can choose your favourite sport: How about diving, windsurfing or surfing with a professional provider, mountain bike tours or eco-hikes along the rocky, green coast… or would you rather relax in the water? Then head to the beach less than 400 metres away or to the (seasonal) pool and children’s pool. Afterwards, maybe it’s time for the daily “high-performance chilling” and relaxing, or a short Wi-Fi trip to the net? At the bar or on the terrace of your luxury mobile home? They are located, by the way, just like the tent and caravan pitches, under pine trees or palm trees - on large pitches, where grass, flat shrubs or flowers sprout.
Culinary, culture and nature - and of course the world-class winegrowing
Or you can take a walk to the nearby fishing village of Angeiras. Here you can buy fish, mussels and huge crustaceans almost daily, freshly caught on the table! Or you can immerse yourself in the relaxed Portuguese way of life, stop at a street café at the harbour for a galão (milky coffee) or a port wine from the nearby vineyards on the Douro? And the kids? They are not the only ones who love little cakes like the pasteis de nata. They are deliciously filled with pudding, which deserves the name cream more. Makes you happy! Only about 20 kilometres away is nearby Porto. Visit the well-preserved old town Ribeira at the mouth of the Douro, admire the massive twin towers of the cathedral. Explore the many shopping streets and enjoy the view from the town hall with its 70-metre-high tower over the elegant Avenida dos Aliados. A small “river cruise” or bike tour through the wine-growing region of Alto Douro, of course not without a visit to a traditional port wine cellar, is also high on the agenda for many holidaymakers!
